Mission
The purpose of The Humanology Project is to reduce the stigma surrounding mental and neurological illnesses by bridging knowledge and attitude gaps. We do so by translating peer-reviewed literature into understandable articles and through a storytelling platform where patients can share their experiences, so readers can gain a more holistic sense of the person. We envision a more inclusive & understanding world where people with stigmatized illnesses receive the quality care and treatment they need.

Membership Benefits
Membership in The Humanology Project provides students with opportunities to develop personally, professionally, and academically while making a meaningful impact on the campus community. Members gain hands-on experience in leadership, writing, editing, graphic design, social media, outreach, event planning, and teamwork through active participation in one of THP's divisions. They can contribute to The Humanology Magazine, attend engaging General Body Meetings featuring interactive activities and guest speakers, participate in mental health advocacy and community outreach initiatives, and collaborate with peers who share a passion for psychology, healthcare, and human connection. Members also have opportunities to build their resumes through leadership positions, mentorship, and professional development while developing valuable communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Eligible members may also participate in THP's internship program and enroll in SOC 488 for academic credit. Above all, membership in The Humanology Project offers a welcoming community where students can grow as leaders, foster empathy, advocate for mental health awareness, and create a lasting positive impact both on campus and beyond.
